Kristin Fisher was hired by CNN on July 20, 2021. She is the network's Space and Defense Correspondent. In this role, Fisher is in charge of covering all things including NASA's new Space Force to commercial space businesses and the advent space tourism. Kristin was born into the sector of space, as the granddaughter and daughter of NASA astronauts. Over the last five years she's been covering space policy under the Biden and Trump Administrations in FOX News. Also, she covered the 2020 presidential race as well as the efforts of two administrations to fight the coronavirus. The former president Donald Trump traveled to Afghanistan in a trip that was highly restricted. Before joining the network in 2015, Kristin spent nearly a 10 years working her way up through local TV news markets including Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she won an Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the city's CBS affiliate. Kristin's skills as a camerawoman helped her establish Field Mouse Films which specialized making documentary-style videos for clients of corporate nature, like Uber Hotels & Resorts and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism that she earned at Boston University. She is married to her husband in Washington, D.C., and is the mother of a 3-year-old daughter.
